The Indiana Department of Financial Institutions (IDFI) honored Indiana Bankers Association (IBA) Chair Benjamin Bochnowski during the chairman’s banquet at the IBA Annual Convention in French Lick.
Bochnowksi received the Sagamore of the Wabash award, issued by Gov. Eric Holcomb and presented by IDFI Director Tom Fite. The honor is given to “exemplary Hoosiers in recognition of distinguished statewide service,” according to a press release.
“Ben’s eye on the future, both in his leadership at his own bank plus his work with the Indiana DFI, made him a clear choice to serve as our chair this year,” IBA President and CEO Amber Van Til said in the release. “His passion for serving his local customers and community at large, plus his outspoken advocacy at the Statehouse and on Capitol Hill, make him a worthy choice for this distinguished honor.”
Bochnowski is CEO of Peoples Bank, Munster and has served on the IDFI board of directors since he was appointed by Holcomb in 2019. Locally, he serves on the boards of directors of One Region and Allies for Community Business.
