Clarifire announced that its cloud-based workflow automation service, CLARIFIRE, has obtained Level Two Attestation from the global Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA) Security, Trust, Assurance, and Risk (STAR) program, according to a company press release.
With the announcement, Clarifire joined a cohort of companies listed on the CSA STAR Registry, including Amazon, Cisco, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and Samsung. This distinction is meant to signal that these companies have undergone a rigorous third-party assessment of their cloud security practices.
The CSA’s STAR Level Two Registration is issued worldwide to companies following an independent audit by a CSA-approved third-party assessor based on the Cloud Controls Matrix, the release stated. Clarifire is currently one of only 58 companies globally with a cloud-based service to achieve Level Two Attestation and is the second smallest U.S. company to hold this distinction.
“This accomplishment reflects the depth of our commitment to security, transparency, and continuous improvement,” Clarifire found and CEO Jane Mason said in the release. “Completing this attestation took two years of teamwork across the company, along with implementing new controls, policies, training, and client agreements. It’s a milestone that speaks to the dedication of our team and our relentless focus on meeting the highest standards in cloud compliance.”
Unlike STAR Level One, which is based on a self-assessment, STAR Level Two requires evaluation by a certified third-party auditor. The process involved implementing a Shared Security Responsibility Model (SSRM) program, modifying the company’s main services agreement and service level agreement, and working directly with clients to adopt new security-related documentation.
By showing its practices meet one of the most widely recognized and stringent security standards, Clarifire’s listing in the CSA’s global STAR Registry validates that the necessary customer safeguards are in place within its advanced and mature security infrastructure.
