The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) recently announced that Alexandra Brinton joined the association as vice president, chief financial officer. Brinton will oversee MBA’s managerial accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and risk management, according to a release.
“I am excited to welcome Alexandra to MBA. Her proven track record of strengthening associations and organizations through thoughtful, disciplined financial leadership makes her an excellent addition to our team,” Peter Grace, MBA’s chief administrative officer and senior vice president of industry education and technology, said in the release “She brings a strategic mindset, strong operational rigor, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach that will be a real asset to our association as we further strengthen our financial operations in today’s market environment.”
Dodd Frank Update reached out to Brinton to get her thoughts on this assignment.
“I am delighted to have been appointed to this role,” she told us. “For over 100 years, the MBA has been the leading voice for the real estate finance industry. I am glad to be part of this esteemed association, working alongside knowledgeable and respected colleagues.”
As to how her previous experiences prepared her for this role with MBA, Brinton offered these observations.
“Having worked for other non-profits with broad operations like MBA, I bring an understanding of programming, member benefits and good financial stewardship, which raises the organization’s finance practices to the next level,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to deliver clearer reporting and faster strategic decision-making.”
Brinton, a certified public accountant, has more than 20 years of accounting and financial management experience working at various for-profit and non-profit organizations. She comes to MBA from the American Association of Airport Executives, where she served as controller.
Prior to that, Brinton served as controller at NCTA (The Internet & Television Association), The Conservation Fund, and at InterAction. Earlier in her career, she served as the associate director of finance at the Eurasia Group.
