Fed faces policy uncertainty as shutdown limits economic data access

The Federal Reserve released its latest Beige Book on Oct. 15 with input from the 12 institutions comprising the Federal Reserve Bank System. Due to the government shutdown, the banks largely relied on data provided by their network of public- and private-sector contacts in their contributions to the report.
