The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched a new platform for consumers to report scams, fraud, and bad business practices.
According to a release, the platform, located at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, is a streamlined, user-friendly way to submit reports. The new platform replaced FTC Complain Assistant.
“Every time you report scams or bad business practices to the FTC, you’re helping to protect your community,” Director of the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection Andrew Smith said. “With ReportFraud.ftc.gov, it’s quicker and easier than ever to share your story, and each report helps the FTC, and other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, fight fraud.”
In addition to the reporting feature, the site offers advice on what to do next based on the consumer’s report. The site is also offered in Spanish.
