CFPB targets late payment fees

In Director Rohit Chopra’s continued efforts to reduce and eliminate fees paid by consumers, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced its latest notice of proposed rulemaking which seeks to significantly reduce the fee applicable to late payments.
