North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc. (NTREIS), a multiple listing service (MLS) in North Texas and Northwest Louisiana, has appointed industry veteran and licensed attorney René Galicia to be its executive vice president and general counsel.
In this newly created role, Galicia will oversee strategic operations and serve as NTREIS’s principal legal advisor, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to mitigating operational risk, regulatory leadership and delivering value to subscribers amid a rapidly evolving real estate landscape, according to a company press release.
He has more than two decades of real estate industry experience, including nearly 15 years in progressive MLS leadership roles. He most recently served as chief operating officer of the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS), the national trade organization for more than 235 member MLSs.
“René brings a rare combination of deep MLS operational experience and legal expertise that is exactly what this moment demands,” NTREIS CEO Chris Carrillo said in the release. “The industry is at a crossroads of policy, technology, and litigation, reshaping consumer expectations in real time. René’s track record at Bright MLS, CMLS, NAR, and CRMLS demonstrates his ability to build durable systems, modernize with purpose, and anticipate what’s next. His leadership will help us move decisively and deliver even greater value to our subscribers and shareholders.”
Before CMLS, Galicia served as EVP, Policy Counsel & Strategic Partnerships at Bright MLS, leading customer operations for the largest MLS in the nation. He led customer satisfaction efforts, major efficiency gains, and expansion via acquisitions and partnerships. Prior to that, he served as director of MLS Engagement at NAR, supporting 1.4 million members, and he held leadership roles at CRMLS, ultimately directing compliance and data licensing for 38 Associations.
“I am honored to join NTREIS at such a pivotal moment for the MLS industry,” Galicia said. “As a trusted partner for the North Texas and Northwest Louisiana real estate community, NTREIS has built a strong foundation, and I look forward to collaborating with Chris, the executive team, and the Board of Directors. I aim to blend operational excellence with proactive legal strategies, positioning NTREIS as a forward‑thinking leader amid evolving technology, diverse subscriber needs, while delivering exceptional value and service.”
