The Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) introduced the members of its 2025 Board of Directors and executive committee during its annual CBA Live conference at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes hotel in Orlando on March 17.
CBA Board Chair Brendan Coughlin, vice chair and head of consumer banking at Citizens Financial Group, succeeded Quincy Miller, bringing two decades of banking experience to the role. Coughlin leads Citizens’ consumer banking division, where he oversees retail banking, digital channels, consumer lending, and wealth management.
Miller, president and vice chairman of Eastern Bank, will continue to serve the retail banking industry’s largest trade organization as its immediate past chair.
CBA’s chair-elect, Atlantic Union Bank President and Chief Operating Officer Maria Tedesco, was elected to take over the reins next year, based on her wealth of knowledge about consumer banking and leadership experience.
The 2025 CBA Board of Directors is comprised of the following:
- Victor Alexander, executive vice president and head of consumer banking at KeyBank;
- Jon Ambler, executive vice president and head of deposits at Truist;
- Todd Barnhart, executive vice president and retail distribution executive at PNC;
- Brendan Coughlin, vice chair and head of consumer banking, Citizens Financial Group
- Kate Danella, senior executive vice president and head of consumer banking at Regions Bank;
- Mike Drury, senior executive vice president of mortgage and consumer lending at M&T Bank;
- Steve Goodman, managing director and head of product for consumer banking at JPMorgan Chase;
- Erminia (Ernie) Johannson, group head of North American personal banking and business banking at BMO;
- Celia Karam, president of retail bank at Capital One;
- Nitin Mhatre, CEO of Berkshire Hills;
- Quincy Miller, president and chief operating officer, Eastern Bankshares, Inc.;
- Shawn Niehaus, head of consumer banking at Fifth Third Bank;
- Arijit Roy, executive vice president of consumer and business banking products at U.S. Bank;
- Patrick Smith: head of consumer and business banking at Santander;
- Brant Standridge, president of consumer and business banking at Huntington;
- Maria Tedesco, president and chief operating officer, Atlantic Union Bank;
- Craig Vallorano, head of retail banking at Citi.
CBA also added the following current CBA board members, elected at the board's October meeting:
- Michael Moran, bank president at USAA;
- Peter Sefzik, senior executive vice president and chief banking officer at Comerica; and
- Andrew Stuart, executive vice president and head of U.S. consumer products, auto finance, and wealth at TD Bank.
