The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has hired Borden Hoskins as associate vice president of legislative affairs. Prior to joining the MBA, Hoskins was a legislative assistant on economy policy issues for former U.S. Sen. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.).
“Having worked earlier in his career as a mortgage loan originator, Borden has a strong understanding of the real estate finance industry, which will help MBA advance its influence on Capitol Hill,” Robert Broeksmit, MBA president and CEO, said in a release. “Our members will also be well served by his deep familiarity with the legislative and public policy process.”
In his role, Hoskins will advocate for the MBA’s legislative and policy priorities on the national political scene. He will primarily focus on republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Borden brings a wealth of experience and relationships to this position, having worked extensively on housing and financial services issues in a variety of staff roles within the Congress,” Bill Killmer, MBA chief lobbyist and senior vice president of legislative and political affairs, said. “We welcome Borden to our already strong team to help us advance MBA’s legislative priorities for its members and the industry.”
