Andrew Weiss, a widely known and highly respected IT mortgage executive, has joined STRATMOR Group, a leading consulting firm dedicated to providing professional expertise and proprietary insights to the mortgage industry. Weiss joins as a principal in the firm’s IT and Operations advisory practice.

Weiss has led teams at both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies, focusing his efforts on the optimal use of technology, big data, analytics and automated decision processes. In software development, Weiss’s successes include:
- An Automated Underwriting platform for the non-conforming mortgage market
- A specialized servicing platform for distressed mortgage assets
- An online marketplace for private student loans
While serving as Senior Vice President of Advanced Technology at Fannie Mae, Weiss led the team that invented, developed, and fostered most of the company’s technology innovations, including the concept development and initial implementation of the Desktop Underwriter system. DU provides the credit risk assessment that determines whether or not a loan meets Fannie Mae’s eligibility requirements.
As a STRATMOR Principal, Weiss will lead and support client engagements that span the full range of IT and operations challenges faced by the firm’s lender-clients, including technology selection, implementation, and operations improvement.
