National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Member
Rodney Hood recently announced that his senior advisor and former chief of staff,
H. Lenwood Brooks, will be transitioning into a new role with the Federal Home
Loan Bank of Dallas, where he will lead the government and industry relations
functions.
Hood acknowledged Brooks’s significant contributions during
his tenure, especially highlighting his pivotal role during the onset of the
COVID-19 pandemic. As chief of staff, Brooks played a crucial part in
navigating the unprecedented challenges faced by the NCUA.
“Throughout my tenure as NCUA’s 11th chairman and currently
as a board member, Lenwood has been a driving force,” Hood said in a statement.
“Due to the constraints that prevent direct negotiation with my fellow NCUA
board colleagues outside of official agency board meetings, the onus largely
falls on our board advisors to find consensus and advance the agency’s agenda.
Lenwood’s exceptional tenacity was particularly evident in the progress of many
initiatives, including the financial innovation final rule, which the NCUA board
unanimously approved last month.”
Hood emphasized that Brooks has been instrumental in
advancing the agency's agenda, as NCUA board members have constraints that
prevent direct negotiation outside of official board meetings.
“Many of my accomplishments are a testament to Lenwood’s
dedication, strategic approach, and tireless work,” Hood said. “Whether
fostering dialogues, building consensus, or ensuring our initiatives align with
NCUA’s broader mission, Lenwood consistently delivered.”
Hood expressed confidence that as Brooks transitions to his
new role, he will continue to uphold the values and work ethic that have made
him an invaluable member of the team.
