The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) published data collected from 2025 mortgage lending transactions spread across thousands of financial institutions, as required by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).
Lenders often use HMDA data, collected by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, to monitor and ensure fair lending compliance, assess their work to address community housing needs and evaluate competitive market trends.
This data, submitted by 4782 U.S. financial institutions, was used to create the FFIEC’s “Snapshot National Loan-Level Dataset,” which contains the contents of the national HMDA datasets as of June 1.
The 2025 Snapshot National Loan-Level Dataset is one of a variety of data products provided by the FFIEC to help financial institutions access the “HMDA Dynamic National Loan-Level Dataset” and “Aggregate and Disclosure Reports.”
Additionally, the FFIEC released the “One-Year National Loan Level Dataset for 2024” and the “Three-Year National Loan Level Dataset for 2022.” Lenders can download customized reports based on these updated data repositories using the “Data Browser Dataset Filtering” tool through the council’s website.
