FDIC finalizes Fair Hiring in Banking Act rule

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) finalized a rule under Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, implementing revisions detailed in the Fair Hiring in Banking Act, which took effect in December 2022. Section 19 regulations generally prohibit any individual convicted of specific types of crimes from participating in banking without the prior written consent of the FDIC.
