The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has decided to begin the rulemaking process for regulating arbitration, releasing an outline of its proposal at a field hearing in Denver, Colo. The proposal seeks to eliminate class-action waivers in arbitration clauses as well as require companies to submit arbitration disputes and resolutions to the bureau for further monitoring.
