Laura Lasher, co-founder and managing director
at Worthy Performance Group, has been awarded the Thought Leader Award from PROGRESS
in Lending Association, according to a press release. Worthy Performance Group
is a company comprised of mentors, advisors and business coaches focused on
helping executives reach their business goals, including real estate and
mortgage professionals, the release states.
In her 40 years of helping families with home
ownership, through home financing, real estate sales and development, Lasher
has always maintained that the customer experience is a strategic and
competitive mandate.
“I want to thank Tony and the team at Progress
in Lending for this recognition,” Lasher said in the release. “Those of us who
have made our living in this business for more than a few decades owe a debt
that can only be repaid to the new professionals entering the industry. Giving
back what we know is just part of our job now. It’s very gratifying to be recognized
for the work we do.”
PROGRESS in Lending Association Chairman and
founder Tony Garritano stressed the need for industry thought-leaders to
advance mortgage lending forward.
“Our existing awards all acknowledge the good
work that executives are doing now, but we think it’s time to reward future
work and initiatives,” Garritano said in the release. “We need thought leaders
that are not afraid to step forward and blaze a new trail. We need creativity.
We need bold new ideas. As a result, for the fourth year in a row PROGRESS in
Lending is honoring industry thought leaders.”
“Laura counsels her clients to think about the
legacy that they will leave behind, both in terms of the companies they are
building and the well-trained teams they leave to take over the work,” he added.
Before founding her consulting firm, Lasher served
as president of the Mortgage Division of Arbor Bank. Prior to moving into home
finance, Lasher spent 20 years as a successful REALTOR. She sold homes during
some of the most difficult times in history, the release states, including the
double-digit interest rates of the 1980s.
She has held a seat on the Multiple Listing
Board of Directors for several years, as well as many committees. She also
served on the City of Omaha's Planning Department on their Zoning Board of
Appeals. She has won many awards during her career, including being recognized by
the National Association of Home Builders, winning the Platinum Award from the
National Marketing and Sales Council (top 1 percent) for selling new homes.
Lasher also won the 2023 Lending Luminary Award and
was awarded the National Management of Excellence Award while being a Producing
Branch Manager Wells Fargo Home Mortgage when her personal production ranked
among the Top 200 mortgage originators in the country, according to Mortgage
Originator Monthly.
