CFPB cites Atlantic Union Bank for ‘deceptive’ overdraft practices

The
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently issued an enforcement action
against Atlantic Union Bank, ordering the company to pay $6.2 million to settle
accusations of “overdraft fee harvesting.” The bank did so by allegedly enrolling
thousands of customers into checking account overdraft programs without their affirmative
consent.
