The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) has named Gregory Mesack as senior vice president (SVP), government affairs.
Mesack brings over 20 years of experience in financial services policy advocacy. As SVP, his responsibilities include leading the association’s legislative, political, regulatory, compliance assistance, research, and economic divisions.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Greg to the NAFCU team; his extensive experience advocating on behalf of multifaceted companies to policymakers and regulators will allow him to hit the ground running on behalf of our members,” NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger said in a release.
“As Congress and the administration continues to work on policies to facilitate an economic recovery, I’m confident that Greg’s extensive experience will allow him to effectively advocate the credit union difference to policymakers and continue to build on our successes.”
Prior to joining NAFCU, Mesack advocated for clients as a member of GrayRobinson, a law and lobbying firm. He also has been the managing director and partner at Eris Group and the vice president of government affairs for America’s Community Bankers. His clients have included Mortgage Bankers Association, Financial Services Institute, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, TransUnion, PayPal, Western Union, and Nike. Before his work in the private industry, he also worked with several members of Congress.
