The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) recently launched a new “Industry Outreach” website designed to disseminate information about financial institution supervision with financial institutions, regulators, the public and other stakeholders.
The website offers access to upcoming FFIEC-sponsored webinars and includes archived webinars, such as ones about the Military Lending Act and another on mobile financial services, with in-depth content about the Appendix E of the “Retail Payment Systems Booklet.” Other webinars, such as “Updates to FFIEC Information Technology Guidance,” which includes a summary of updates to the “Management and Information Security Booklets” and the “Cyber Assessment Tool,” will be added to the archive in the near future, according to an FFIEC press release.
The FFIEC’s industry outreach program is intended to enhance communication between the FFIEC and all interested parties, according to the website.
“The FFIEC Industry Outreach is an alternative delivery program that provides timely updates on changes in supervisory guidance or regulations and information on current issues in the financial industry,” the website states. “The target audience for FFIEC Industry Outreach programs includes representatives from financial institutions, trade associations, third-party providers, and consultants. Federal and state financial institution examiners are also welcome to participate in FFIEC Industry Outreach programs.”
The site also offers links to information about FFIEC reporting forms, the FFIEC IT Handbook InfoBase, FFIEC initiatives to spread cybersecurity awareness and the agency’s consumer help center.
