More than a year after Santander Consumer USA Inc., paid nearly $10.5 million to settle Department of Justice claims that it violated the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act in illegally repossessing the vehicles of active servicemembers, there are still repercussions for HSBC Finance Corp., which will pay $434,500 for its involvement in the alleged violations.
