Under the Dodd-Frank Act, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is required to submit annual reports to Congress on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Because the bureau and Federal Trade Commission jointly enforce this Act, the commission sent a lender summarizing its work on debt collection issues.
