Financial services groups applaud debit card ruling

Groups representing banks and credit unions were pleased by an appeals court’s decision last week to uphold the Federal Reserve’s current Dodd-Frank debit card swipe fee caps and network exclusivity requirements. However, a merchant group said the court “misread the law” when it overturned a July 2013 district court ruling that struck down the Fed’s debit card rules.
