Trades question swap registration rule's extraterritorial impact
|
A coalition of industry groups responded to rules governing the registration of swap dealers and major swap participants. The groups said that when the Commodity Futures Trading Commission finalized the regulations, the agency “failed to appreciate the very serious problems created by relying on” the rule's preliminary registration requirement in circumstances where the extraterritorial application of the Commodity Exchange Act's swap provisions has not yet been clarified.
