Fed extends foreign bank rulemaking comment period

The Federal Reserve extended the comment period for proposed rules that would require foreign banks with significant U.S. operations to create intermediate holding companies over their U.S. subsidiaries. The proposal would also implement Dodd-Frank’s enhanced prudential standards and early remediation requirements for foreign banking organizations and certain foreign nonbank financial companies.
