The Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed rules pursuant to Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act that would require resource extraction issuers, their subsidiaries and any entities under their control to disclosure annual reports of payments made to both the U.S. federal government and foreign governments for the commercial development of oil, natural gas or minerals.
