PenFed Credit Union recently announced that it has completed renovations to its historic West Point Cadet Branch.
“It is an honor to be a part of this project and share in its successful unveiling,” PenFed President and CEO James Schenck said in a press release.
Schenck, a 1988 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, began his credit union career as a volunteer, serving on the Board of Directors of West Point Federal Credit Union and Pentagon Federal Credit Union. He also taught Economics and Finance at the U.S. Military Academy later in his professional career.
“My roots on this campus run strong and deep,” he said. “This renovation underscores our continued commitment to serve all Corps of Cadets, the West Point faculty and staff, and the entire West Point campus community as a whole. PenFed Credit Union is here to stay.”
In addition to the aesthetic enhancements, the branch has added a financial advisor to its team roster. Visitors to the branch now have the ability to speak with Brenda Botens, a Financial Advisor registered through CUSO Financial Services, L.P., at PenFed Wealth Management. Botens can offer a full range of investment planning strategies tailored to the specific needs of each individual, whether the investment is to ensure a client’s lifestyle in retirement, a dependent’s educational expenses, or a legacy for a client’s heirs.
“This marks the first time we have an onsite financial advisor for our West Point Cadet Branch location,” West Point Branch Manager Tim Hordych said. “Adding this service resource to our team fits perfectly into PenFed’s mission of helping our members Do Better.”
Other renovations include high-tech upgrades made to the space incorporate an open floor plan with interactive member-teller cash recycler kiosks and community board screens. Branch representatives are readily available to assist members with all questions regarding any of PenFed’s full-suite of best-in-class products. This unique, open floor concept removes the barrier between the teller and the member making for a more engaging user experience between members and staff.
“With our new state-of-the-art branch, we are now able to extend the experience of competitive, innovative, and quality products and services to the Corps of Cadets and the West Point campus community,” Hordych said. “We are dedicated to growth, community service, core membership and quality member service.”
