The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has refreshed its public website to improve functionality and access. The bureau said the site, consumerfinance.gov, has an improved layout, more content, and a new enforcement database.
“Our website serves as a critical tool for reaching consumers, and we will continue to seek ways to make it more accessible, user-friendly, and informative,” CFPB Director Kathleen Kraninger said in a release. “With this refresh we increased transparency and made it easier for the public to engage with the bureau.”
The new enforcement database will allow users to quickly find information regarding the CFPB’s public enforcement actions, including interactive graphs that track cumulative consumer relief. The database also will show the total number of enforcements per year.
The website will also feature a page for petitions regarding rulemaking and an archive for older content. “Older content” will be considered blogs, newsroom pages, and reports more than two years old, and users will be notified if they are being directed to or using an archived page to prevent confusion between outdated and new information.
The bureau said it plans more changes to the website in the months ahead.
