On May 21, the Senate Banking Committee held an executive session to mark-up Sen. Richard Shelby’s (R-Ala.) original bill, titled “The Financial Regulatory Improvement Act of 2015,” adopting the bill after a 12-10 vote along party lines. Although Democrats and Republicans alike expressed a desire to work together and negotiate in the future, the bill will have rough road ahead, if it reaches the Senate floor at all.
