Navy Federal Credit Union recently promoted Anthony “Tony” Gallardy to serve as the company’s new executive vice president and chief information officer, taking over for Bill Hills, who decided to retire after nearly a decade working at the credit union.
Gallardy began his career with Navy Federal 33 years ago, having served as Navy Federal’s vice president of global telecommunication services, then as senior vice president of consumer and credit card lending prior to his role as the deputy CIO, according to a press release. For the past five years, Gallardy served as senior vice president, deputy to the chief information officer and was responsible for internal service delivery, IT systems, and project execution.
“Tony truly values our intent to serve and financially protect our members and he has always remained devoted to our mission. With that focus and his more than 30 years of diversified experience throughout the credit union, Tony is the right person to lead our Information Services Department forward,” Navy Federal President and CEO Mary McDuffie said in the release.
In 2004, Gallardy received the Samuel Pennestri Memorial Award for his devotion and loyalty to Navy Federal, which is the credit union’s most prestigious award.
