House Financial Services Committee Chairman Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) unveiled an outline of the Financial Choice Act, which is being proffered as a replacement to the Dodd-Frank Act. The bill would eliminate the Volcker Rule and the Financial Stability Oversight Council’s SIFI designation process, among other things, and may lead to prominent adjudicative changes, such as eliminating Chevron deference.
