The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has appointed Gregory Bottone as regional director for the Chicago region, replacing John Conneely who was promoted to a different position earlier this year.
Bottone will direct risk management and consumer protection supervision programs for financial institutions in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He has been with the FDIC for more than 35 years, starting as a bank examiner in the Concord, N.H. Field Office.
The new regional director also has held several positions within the Division of Risk Management Supervision. Additionally, Bottone served as the acting area director for the Boston area office, acting deputy regional director for Chicago, Kansas City, and New York regions, and was a review examiner and case manager in Boston and acting section chief in the headquarters office during the height of the Great Recession.
