Gateway First Bank in Oklahoma announced the appointment of Natalia Coen as its new chief compliance officer. Coen will be responsible for planning, developing and managing the execution of a compliance management system and any related initiatives at one of the 10 largest banks by asset-size in the state of Oklahoma and one of the largest mortgage bank operations in the country.
Coen also will advise senior management, the board of directors and any necessary committees of new laws and regulatory concerns, according to a press release. She will serve as a member of the risk and compliance committee and will oversee the compliance management processes for Gateway. Additionally, she will draft and implement compliance policies for the company and provide support and assistance to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidance.
“Natalia is an accomplished compliance professional who has a proven ability to lead and manage teams and projects,” Scott Gesell, chief administrative officer at Gateway, said in the release. “Her extensive knowledge of banking services, consumer compliance issues, processes, regulatory requirements and more will make her a strong asset to Gateway as we continue our transition in the banking space. We are excited to have her join the team.”
Before joining Gateway, Coen served as senior vice president and director of compliance at CoBiz Financial, a $3.8 billion financial services holding company based in Denver, Colo., where she directed effective compliance, customer complaint, third-party contract and fair lending management programs among others. Coen is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and has a certificate in Operational Risk Management from the American Bankers Association (ABA), the release states.
