Government to survey borrowers as part of mortgage database project

The Federal Housing Financial Agency plans to survey thousands of borrowers each year as part of its effort to build and maintain a government database of mortgage information. The FHFA, which is partnering with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to build the forthcoming National Mortgage Database, said the surveys would help regulators obtain critical information that is not available from existing sources.
