The leaders of six regulatory agencies opposed a bill that would subject independent agencies to the regulatory analysis requirements applicable to other federal agencies, including requirements related to regulatory cost-benefit analysis. In a recent letter, the regulators argued that the measure could allow an administration to influence rulemakings and would likely result in unnecessary litigation.
