Fidelity National Financial named Real Estate Data Shield its preferred vendor for data security compliance and is urging its title agents nationwide to embrace Real Estate Data Shield’s compliance and data security solutions.
Fidelity’s recommendation is based upon increasing financial sector regulations and the stricter enforcement of these regulations (including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Bulletin 2012-03) in the data security area. The mounting pressure from institutional lenders to demonstrate that independent agents are adhering to data security “best practices” and are complying with applicable data security laws, also contributes to this recommendation.
“We are delighted to be selected as Fidelity’s vendor of choice for compliance and data security solutions,” said Christopher Gulotta, chief executive officer of Real Estate Data Shield. “It shows their commitment to their agent partners while addressing the important issues facing our industry.”
Real Estate Data Shield’s interactive e-Courseware was designed specifically for title and settlement data security compliance and takes only 20-25 minutes for the user to complete. Upon completion of the included certification exam, the courseware generates a certificate indicating that the user successfully completed the course. This allows agents to then demonstrate to lender clients and regulators (including the CFPB and the Federal Trade Commission) their compliance with the staff-training component of the applicable privacy laws, rules and regulations.
